### Right Angles And The Pythagorean Theorem

Our Pythagorean theorem worksheet has directions for finding the lengths of the missing sides. The next step is to add these two together, which obviously equals 676 C, and the last step is to subtract this square from here. The square root and the square root cancel out and you’re left with just C and then the square root of 676 on that side is 26. The answer to the length of our missing side is 26.

Let’s move on to our next problem Our next problem is a little different because instead of the hypotenuse we’re missing a leg. If you are searching, the first thing you need to do is label the sides of this triangle. In the case of this triangle, we have a leg here because it’s adjacent to the right angle, and then we have a leg here because it’s adjacent to the right angle, so the side here has to be the hypotenuse. angle In terms of labels, our triangle looks like this. The next step is to square 35. 35 times 35 is 1225 and we don’t know the square of B so we’re going to square B, then 37 squared is 1,000 369. Then the next step to solve this is subtract 1225 from in 1369 which canceled this out. Square that side and then 1369 minus 1225 144. Then the last step you have to solve is to take the square root of the opposite square of the square of something you want to subtract. We take the square root of both sides ending in the square root of 144, which is 12. The answer to the length of our missing side in this problem is 12.
