Writing Smart Goals Worksheet
Writing Smart Goals Worksheet – I came across a thread the other day about helping students set academic goals for themselves and I love the idea! Setting goals, setting goals, and achieving goals are strong skills that help students succeed not only now, but in the future. It’s a skill you can use for a lifetime.
So the little cogs in my brain were set in motion and wouldn’t stop until I figured out how to use it. I had to do this at both ages since I have grades one and one-third in Kindergarten. To my son in Kindergarten, I talk about some educational goals I have for him this year. We make it small and easy to understand. I found this hot air balloon graphic and created a template that I thought would be great for writing goals. We work one by one, and when we reach the goal we paint the patch on the hot air balloon. In the classroom, I think these hot air balloons would make a nice bulletin board display or place for students to see their progress. Some interesting topics might be “Setting Goals and Soaring”, “Going Places with Goals” or “Our Goals: Reaching New Heights”.

New Year 2022 Activities And Writing Goal Setting
For my third grade son, I go through the goal setting process using the goal plan we created. When deciding what goal you want to achieve, I want you to understand what to consider along with the steps you will take to get there. I saw SMART goals on Pinterest and thought they were a great way to help students through the goal setting process. I also created a hot air balloon for her to use with elementary students.
Regular meetings to check in with students on how their goals are progressing are critical to success. Students should be encouraged to keep going, but may need guidance on when and how to change their goals or the steps to take to get there. You must understand that changing your goal does not mean failure. It is important to learn to adapt, but continue to achieve your goal. This is a good opportunity to mention famous people like Michael Jordan, Albert Einstein or Walt Disney who faced many challenges before achieving success. Those challenges didn’t stop them. They changed what they needed and continued to work towards their goal and eventually achieved it.
When these goals are achieved, it’s time to celebrate! Recognize students in the classroom, send home notes to parents, and/or place signs at school celebrating student achievement that day.
