EastEnders shuns iPlayer release for explosive Christmas Day murder episode - but there's a catch

THE BBC has confirmed that the EastEnders Christmas Day episode will not be available to view early ahead of the big The Six reveal - dashing any hopes of an early Christmas gift from the soap.

Fans can usually expect to find brand new episodes of the soap available to stream on BBC iPlayer at 6am on the day of its television airing.

But this Christmas that will not be the case with bosses holding out in order for everyone to discover the truth behind the storyline at the same time.

It means fans will be forced to tune in live at 9:45pm for a special late-night hour-long Christmas Day episode on BBC One.

However, you won't need to wait long to catch the dramatic aftermath.

On Boxing Day, the follow-up episode will drop early as normal meaning fans will only have to wait less than twelve hours to catch even more Walford drama.

EastEnders viewers have been left on their edges of their seats over the last ten months in the build-up to The Six drama.

Speculation has ramped up this December with the soap dedicating one full episode to each member and story arc of The Six.

Either Linda Carter, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale, Sharon Watts, Denise Fox or Suki Panesar will be responsible for the down fall of one unlucky gent.

A variety of faces have been in the frame to meet a grisly end including Ravi Gulati, Jack Branning and Dean Wicks.

However, a chilling clue in the latest episode has led many to speculate that Nish Panesar will die at the hands of wife Suki and Stacey in a joint effort.

In a telltale sign as to what might happen this Christmas, Stacey furiously said: "I just want to do whatever is going to hurt [Nish] the most."

It came as the pair discovered that Nish knew of Suki's secret affair and fans are now convinced murder is on their mind.

One wrote on X - formerly Twitter:  "Suki is plotting her revenge, NISH IS ABOUT TO GO BYE BYE."

The show left fans disappointed when they revealed an epic cufflinks twist that meant nearly every Walford resident had the chance to own a pair of the same cufflinks seen on the dead body this Christmas.
